History

O
ur Vegetable Crops Working Group began in the late 1960s, and continues today, with Rutgers agricultural professionals – both County Agricultural Agents and Extension Specialists – meeting for a few hours every other month to share timely observations on crop conditions, insect pests, Integrated Pest Management observations, emerging diseases, market opportunities and risks, variety performance, and grower experiences.

The goals of the vegetable working group over the years has been to serve New Jersey vegetable farmers with the most timely and useful information. This is done through sound research and by forming strong relationships with producers, agriculture industry representatives, and others working towards the goal of a strong agriculture industry in New Jersey.
