Dr. Andy Wyenandt is the Extension Specialist in vegetable pathology for the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station. Dr. Wyenandt joined Rutgers University in the spring of 2004 after completing a Ph.D. in plant pathology from Ohio State University. Dr. Wyenandt’s research has focused fungicide resistance management in cucurbit crops, and the effects of production systems and phytophthora-tolerance on the development of skin separation or ‘silvering’ in bell pepper fruit with Dr. Wesley Kline. Dr. Wesley Kline is an Agricultural Agent with Rutgers Cooperative Extension in Cumberland County. He is responsible for the commercial vegetable and herb production programs in the county. His research and extension activities are based on growers’ needs in integrated pest management, cultural practices and post harvest handling. Areas of emphasis the last five years have been on food safety, cultural systems related to phytophthora blight of pepper and tomato production systems. Before joining Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Dr. Kline worked in Central America with the United States Agency for International Development and the Honduran Foundation for Agricultural Research. He received his B.A. from Salem College, Salem, West Virginia and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Cornell University in the Vegetable Crops Department. |
